STATELESS

Year: 2025

Location: Baton Rouge, Louisiana U.S.A.

We’re sure you’re wondering how this journal of words and images landed in our hands. But who’s to say the internet is not a time travel portal, a conduit of a cyber space black hole quantum entangled with time? How else could Jerr’s Journal travel from his time of 2035 to ours?

Schrödinger’s cat does exist. Jerr’s Journals exist too.

Yes, more than one journal travelled to us but this one, the one we named “STATELESS”, is the only one we could re-construct in its entirety. The rest are in shredded sections. “STATELESS” arrived torn and singed but redeemable. It was discovered in Mari’s water damaged wall due to a thunderstorm, causing a roof leak to traverse into a wall – hence the journal being revealed. Had it been there — Jerr’s documentation, our future — for years?  Or did the storm’s electricity excite atoms that entangled the two timelines? We don’t know. We are not physicists.

We are artists and artists have a responsibility to the world they live in. So, once we realized its significance, its revelations of what’s to come, we carefully reconstructed Jerr’s Journal while living in our own uncertain time. Fragment by fragment. Bit by bit.

It’s stating the obvious that we are experiencing huge climate events (leaving many unhoused, devasted, or dead), plus cutbacks in healthcare, food security, removal of birthright citizenship making many stateless. And countless other things which all become extreme in Jerr’s time – which is just ten years from now. Hence, the urgency to restore Jerr’s journal we named “STATELESS” and present it to you, free of charge in honor of Jerr’s documentation of 2035. In other words, the future of Jerr’s words and images delivered into our hands is now delivered into yours.

Tattered and torn but still standing.

For now.
